Basic White Sauce With Variations Recipe
Ingredients:
2 Tbsps of butter (unsalted)
2 Tbsps of flour; sifted
1 c of milk
Salt and Pepper (to taste)
Instructions:
Combine flour and milk; blend thoroughly. Add the melted butter and mix thoroughly. Heat above moderate heat for 1 min, while stirring constantly. Repeat until arrived to desired thickness.
Some Variations:
Red: add three tablespoons of catsup
Curry: add one-half teaspoon of powdered curry
Cucumber: add one-eighth teaspoon cayenne and one-half cup of grated cukes
Seafood: add one-half cup of cook shrimps or any seafood.
Cheese: add one-half cup of cheese along with either one-fourth teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce or teriyaki sauce or one-fourth teaspoon of (dry) mustard.
