Bourbon Barbecue Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp of butter (unsalted)
1 Tbsp of oil (olive oil)
2 c of chopped onions
2 pcs cloves of garlic (medium); crushed
1 c of catsup
1/2 c of molasses
1/4 c of vinegar (red wine)
1 tsp of mustard (dry)
1/4 tsp of pepper (black)
2 Tbsps of juice (lemon)
1/2 tsp of lemon zest; grated
1 Tbsp of paprika (Hungarian)
1 Tbsp of soy sauce
1/3 c of bourbon
Instructions:
Melt the butter in oil inside a saucepan. Saute the onions till tender then add the garlic; cook for 2 mins. Combine catsup, molasses, vinegar, pepper, mustard, juice, zest, soy, bourbon, and paprika; stir onto the sauteed mixture.
Let it boil then reduce the heat; let it simmer, about half an hour while occasionally stirring. Let it cool then transfer on an airtight jar. Cover tightly and place inside the refrigerator.
