Braised Onion Sauce For Pasta Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of butter (unsalted)
1 Tbsp of sugar (refined)
1-1/2 lbs of onions (medium); peeled and sliced
1/4 c of wine (Madeira)
Parmesan cheese; grated
Instructions:
Saute the onions with butter. Add sugar and stir; cook above very gentle heat for 1 hr. Add wine and stir thoroughly; cook for a while then pour onto freshly-cooked pasta. Serve with cheese on the side.
