Cherry Rum Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
1-1/2 c of water
1-1/2 Tbsps of cornstarch
1/2 c of sugar (refined)
1 tsp of juice (lemon)
2 tsps of rum flavoring (or extract)
2 c of fresh cherries (dark sweet)
3 drops of food color (red)
Instructions:
Combine cornstarch and sugar; add onto (cold) water. Heat till thick; stir constantly. Add cherries then let it heat through, don’t boil. Add extract, juice, and red food color; stir thoroughly.
Sauce is great for sherbets and any chilled desserts.
